June and Michael’s Quantico wedding was SO much fun! It was also freezing and super windy outside, so that meant some pivoting when it came to family photos/ outdoor portraits. But we made it all work, and they don’t even look cold in the photos! If you are trying to plan your own wedding here, I will go through some of their timeline and where we took photos throughout the day. Along with that, I will include which of my photography packages they booked and what it ended up covering. I would love to also help you plan your wedding day!
June got ready at the church, so the couple did end up seeing each other before the wedding. But they didn’t have an official first look, so the first time Michael saw her in her dress was when she was walking down the aisle. Because of this, we did more portraits after the ceremony than before. This worked out since they didn’t have a huge bridal party! If you have more people then there are other ways to work out without having a first look. You could also use the time before the ceremony to take bridesmaid/ groomsmen portraits separately so you only have the whole wedding party left to do after. It took about an hour total after the ceremony to finish all the portraits (family, wedding party, and couple.) After that we headed to their reception at the officers club across the street from the church. They booked my 6 hour package, which had me come about 2 hours pre-ceremony, and stay for about 2 hours into the reception.
We had planned on doing most of the portraits outside, but it was FREEZING. Because of that, we ended up moving family photos to the altar of the church. It worked out well, and everyone stayed warm! We did end up doing the wedding party and couples photos outside, and then at the very end we did the last few couples photos inside just because they were getting too cold. We got some at the front of the church, but there were also little areas around the side of the church and a field in the back that ended up being really pretty. There was plenty of space for a variety of backdrops for the photos!
June and Michaels reception was beautiful! The officers club was close to the church, and very easy to find. They moved the big floral pieces from the church to the reception area while family photos were being taken. That meant the flowers got to be enjoyed all day. Other than the florals, they decorated with a bunch of books and their engagement photos. Yet another plus to having engagement photos done! I am always a sucker for books being included in reception decor, and this was no exception. Their timeline moved pretty quickly from here on out, and the dinner/ speeches/ cake cutting were all covered in the 6 hour photography package.
I offer 6, 8, and 10 hour packages that start at $2,000! June and Michael booked the 6 hour package since they had a relatively small wedding where everything is close together. My most popular package is 8 hours, and that covers from a couple hours before your wedding through most of the reception! If you are interested in my pricing guide, fill out my inquiry form HERE
