For this session we were going for simplicity. We wanted to capture Hannah’s pregnancy in a way that felt authentic to her. And what better way to be authentic to your relationship than getting photos done in your own home. It ended up raining this day, and I think it just added to the cozy in-home session vibe we wanted! Capture Your Own Environment

I love the intimacy that comes with being photographed in your own environment. You will get to look back on photos that feel like how you were feeling at this stage in your life. If we end up doing your newborn photos at your home too, there are some photos we can recreate with your baby in them. It is so eye-opening to see how your home changes in such a short amount of time. We could show you decorating your nursery, or relaxing in the room you spent so much time putting together.

Great For Winter (Or Summer)

In-home sessions offer a ton of flexibility for you as a couple! You can wear whatever outfits you want, no matter what the weather is. We also don’t have to worry about if it is raining or not on your session day.  If you have had a harder pregnancy, sometimes not having to leave your house for photos is a blessing. They are also great for when you are pregnant in the winter, but you still want to wear an outfit that shows off your bump (while also not freezing.) Even in the summer it is nice to have air conditioning for your session. 

RVA Photographer Maternity Sessions

My maternity and newborn sessions are always flexible! I understand that we are on baby’s schedule, and things might not always pan out exactly how we plan them. The best time for scheduling your photos is between 28 and 36 weeks, so make sure you start reaching out a few weeks earlier than that. All of my maternity sessions feature location planning, outfit help, and a session guide that gives you all my tips and tricks! We also snap a few instax photos for you to take home at the end of your session. I love getting to help you come up with a session that feels authentic to you as a couple
