I have worked at so many wedding venues in the area, and The Mill is truly stunning, the staff is amazing, and you have everything you could possibly need all in one place. I will go over some of my favorite venue features as a Richmond VA wedding photographer. Why Get Married At The Mill At Fine Creek?

The History

In the 1730’s a community developed around a gristmill in Powhatan VA. There are still remnants of the original mill and other structures around the 10 acre property. It really makes you feel like you have stepped onto a movie set.

Amenities

They have a groom’s suite and bridal suite that are close enough for photographers to be able to jump back and forth, but you don’t have to worry about running into each other pre first look or ceremony. Both are beautiful spaces that lead to photos that fit your vibe. There is so much parking that you and your guests won’t have to worry about finding a spot close to the venue. They also have event coordinators on site that help keep your timeline on track. You also get exclusive use of the venue for your day!

Versatile Photo Spots

There are SO many different spots for photos throughout the grounds. You have the creek that runs behind the ruins, plenty of space behind the pergola to do family photos or your wedding party photos, and lots of paths and private space to have your first look. As a photographer, I always find it so easy to be creative and tailor the day to each couple in all the manicured gardens. You also get a choice of three different ceremony spots. If you are having a slightly smaller wedding, you can actually get married in The Ruins! It gives such a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony, and feels like this little enclosed area put there just for you. If your wedding is on the larger side then you have the option for The Pergola. It’s openness has so many options for your ceremony, whether you want huge floral arrangements or to keep it more simple. You can also get married down by the creek for something different! No matter where you actually get married, I love going around to all the spots and using them for different parts of your day.

Use The Space After Your Wedding

You also get access to use the venue after your wedding for family photos, anniversary photos, or maternity photos if that is something you choose to do! Only couples who have previously gotten married at The Mill At Fine Creek have access. These sessions always end up being some of my favorites because we can recreate some of your wedding photos with your evolving family. We can also use it for your engagement session. This is especially nice to get multiple seasons in the space.

Three Bridge Photography Wedding Packages

I offer 6 hour, 8 hour, and 10 hour packages, along with the option to create a custom package that fits your needs. My 8 and 10 hour packages include a complimentary engagement session so we can meet each other before your big day! I also do custom end of the night Instax albums for all my wedding couples. I love getting to show you a preview of your day for you to look at on your way home! All of my packages come with 24 hour sneak peeks too.
