Maymont Park

This is the obvious choice if you want a more natural setting in Richmond City! There are a ton of different places to walk to that will give you a huge variety in your final gallery. There is a lot of walking involved, and I hate taking strollers down to the Japanese Gardens, so if you have little kids then somewhere else on this list might be a better fit for you.

Chimborazo Park

Chimborazo Park is a great place for kids to run around and play. I love showing kids the mini Statue Of Liberty! This is a fun option for people who don’t want to do Libby Hill Park, or if you have already taken family photos there and want a little bit of a different feel.

Your Favorite Neighborhood

Taking a walk around your favorite neighborhood is also a fun idea. It gives your kids something to do during the photo session. You and your partner could stop and get coffee, your kids could grab an ice cream, and we can make cute art out of it!

Salisbury Studios

This one is a little drive out of Richmond City, but only about 30 minutes! And the drive is totally worth it. You get a private greenhouse for a small rental fee. The whole area is pretty magical and there is plenty to explore. 

Belle Isle

Belle Isle is the perfect spot for city and nature views. You can be out playing on the rocks, turn one way to get an amazing view of the city, and the other way to make it look like you are completely secluded in nature. You do have to walk across the suspension bridge to get to most of the good photo spots, so if you don’t love heights this might not be the best choice.
