Grace and Seth had the coziest winter wedding in Lynchburg VA! They had some of the cutest ideas that you could easily apply to your own wedding. There were some winter wedding essentials, along with some personal details that really made the wedding day their own. Keep reading for plenty of winter wedding inspo, a sample timeline, and some photography packages for your own day.
Grace and Seth chose my 8 hour photography package, and it covered getting ready through their exit. I got to the church at noon and we did getting ready/ detail photos. Grace was in her dress by 1:45, and then they moved right into the first looks. They had a couples first look while everyone else hung out inside the sanctuary. Then Grace did a first look with her Dad and bridesmaids. Because they did a first look pretty early on, we could get most of the family photos and all of the wedding party photos done before their ceremony started. Once the ceremony started at 3 they were able to be really present with their family and friends. After the ceremony we took about 45 minutes to do the rest of the family photos and their couple’s portraits. Once they entered their reception they got to just be in the moment and not worry about photos anymore! Your wedding day can work with no first look, but it really does help you get to your wedding day events faster.
Along with a hot chocolate bar at the reception, they also decided on cinnamon rolls for dessert! The glass cups for the hot chocolate made for some really cool photos, and also kept everyone’s hands warm. It was freezing outside! Because they opted for a non-cake option, their baker put together a cinnamon bun cake for the cake cutting. They also added in some personal elements behind the sweetheart table. Grace is a pilot and Seth works on cars so they added some memorabilia for both of them. The most fun part of your wedding is being able to make it your own. Your personal details are what you will look back on the most fondly!
I offer 6, 8, and 10 hour wedding packages. My most common one is the 8 hour package because as long as you aren’t doing something super unique at the very end of your reception, 8 hours is a long enough time. Once we get into your reception there is enough time left for me to cover all the speeches, first dances, and cake cutting! The 10 hour package is a good idea if you are having a private first dance that you really want captured. It is usually best to have at least 3 hours of coverage pre-ceremony so nothing is rushed. The best photos come out of you just simply spending time with your loved ones instead of being scheduled down to the second.
