Are you looking for a unique wedding venue? If you said yes, Avonlea Farms is a Virginia greenhouse wedding venue, and it should be on your list. The greenhouse is located in Mineral Va, right between Richmond and Charlottesville. About 50 minutes from Richmond and 45 minutes from Charlottesville. It was so much fun getting to do this shoot at Avonlea Farms, and I can’t wait to go again in the future!
What Are The Benefits Of Having Your Wedding In A Greenhouse?
The first big plus is that you can use all the natural decor around you. This picnic table during their first date as husband and wife was so simple, but all the lush trees around them really made the minimal decor look perfect. You chose your wedding date for a reason, and having the season you chose play a big part of the decorations is such a fun way to honor your wedding date. A greenhouse wedding venue is going to look very different in the fall vs the summer, and embracing that just makes your wedding more unique!
Avonlea Farms Amenities
Avonlea seats 175 people in the greenhouse. Most people have their reception there and the ceremony under a huge oak tree nearby. The whole 64 acres are absolutely beautiful. The wedding areas of the venue are lit by bistro lights. Another thing you can check off your decor list. They have a bridal suite and a groom’s cottage which makes getting ready a breeze…and it is also easier for one photographer to bounce back and forth between the locations! There are also lawn games, a fire pit down by the lake, and parking attendants to show people where to go. They have so many different places to take photos too, so you will get a variety of backdrops without having to travel anywhere.

A Virginia greenhouse wedding reception is perfect for couples who want to incorporate nature into their day. The season plays a huge part in how your wedding will look, and I think that is probably my favorite part of Avonlea Farms. It is also perfect for couples who want something a little more unique.
