Raven’s Roost Overlook Elopement

Ravens Roost Overlook Elopement

Have you ever thought about eloping? Are you planning your own elopement and are in search for the perfect location? Keep reading to hear about some of the general benefits of having an elopement, and some specifics about a Raven’s Roost Overlook elopement.

Tell Your Story

As a storytelling photographer, it is my job to help you plan your day to have a beginning, middle, and end so you can look through your gallery and see a clear timeline of events. Elopements give you the unique chance to make that timeline true to who you and your partner are as a couple. This couple chose to have a picnic at a nearby park to begin their day, but the options are endless! I can help you plan an activity, or I will totally be along for the ride while we do your ideas. Get ready together. Get ready separately. Write your vows while you do something you love. Make your elopement a day centered around the things in which you find joy.

Your Raven’s Roost Overlook Elopement

As far as this particular location goes, it is the perfect place to get the mountain views without having to go on a long hike. This view is basically right next to the parking lot which is nice if you are having few guests and don’t want them to have to walk very far. It is also great for people with mobility issues, even though you do have to make your way around some rocks to get to the very edge. If you want part of your day to revolve around hiking to the perfect spot, then we can come up with some other great locations that are perfect for you!

The Devils In The Details

It is best to plan your elopement around busy times. A weekday will be less crowded than a weekend, a non-holiday weekend will be less crowded than a holiday weekend, etc. There can be a lot of people hiking and driving around the park sometimes. Sunrise will have less people, but also you can’t beat sunset at Raven’s Roost. This particular day was pretty cloudy, but even the clouds add a certain ambiance that make your day unique.

What You Need To Get Married

Along with all of the things you need to do to legally elope in Virginia (that I will go into on another post) you also need to have a permit to have a Raven’s Roost Overlook elopement. You can learn more about the permits HERE, but there is a non-refundable application fee of $60.00 due at the time of application and a non-refundable administrative fee of $40.00 due when the permit is issued. I can help you navigate all of that when we are planning your day!
