Choosing the best photographer to capture your memories can be a daunting task. What qualities do you look for? What do you base your decisions on? I hope this will help you narrow down what you are looking for so you can find a photographer that makes you comfortable and brings out your best self!
What Is Your Style?
The most important thing is to make sure you like your photographers portfolio. Everybody has a style, whether it is dark and moody, light and airy, or somewhere in between, and your photos will end up similar to the photos they post online. Do you like photos that are more candid or are you looking for more posed shots? Once you check out their portfolio, you will have a general idea of whether or not the photographer’s style matches yours or not. You can check out my portfolio HERE!
Choosing The Best Photographer: Budget Edition
The next most important thing when choosing the best photographer is to keep your budget in mind (obviously.) It is important to remember that skilled photographers factor their business expenses and experience into the cost of their sessions. The more skilled the photographer, the more your photo session is going to cost. BUT, there are ways to try and make your favorite photographer work within your budget. You can look into doing a shorter session, or ask if they have any mini sessions coming up! I know I usually do my micro sessions in the fall, so that would be a cost effective way to update your family photos each year.
Do People Look Relaxed?
Whether you are looking for a posed shot or more candid pictures, always check to make sure the people look relaxed. That is a good indicator that they are having fun with the photographer, and I feel like having fun at your photoshoots is one of the most important parts!
I hope that I can be the best photographer for you!
