Hey, I’m Caitlin! I am the face behind the camera of Three Bridge Photography. I thought my first blog post could be a little about me so you can get to know me a little bit more and decide whether I will be a good fit for your photography project!
When did you first get into photography?
I have been taking pictures as long as I can remember! But I think the first time I REALLY thought of it as a career possibility was in a high school film photography class. I fell in love with doing those photography projects and began to appreciate how unique every human is and how that translates into photos.
What is your photography style?
I would describe my style as documentary// lifestyle. My photos have a warm feel, and my entire goal is to capture your personality. I want my photos to show the personality of your specific family, so they will have a lot of you in them too!
Where do you work?
I am based out of Powhatan Virginia, but I cover any surrounding area within 1 hour with no travel fees, or anywhere you want me to be with a small travel fee. We moved to Powhatan in 2019, and have loved watching our family grow here. We moved with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 daughter and since then our family has grown by 2 daughters and 17 chickens!
What is your favorite thing about photography?
I love when photos show the unique traits of the people in the pictures. If the photo has done its job, it should bring up a feeling or a memory. I love having photos up in my own house that show my kid’s personalities, and my main focus is bringing other people that same joy.
What editing software do you use?
I use Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. I usually just do some simple color correcting and light editing in Lightroom because I really want my photos to capture how everyone looked in the moment.
What camera do you use?
I use a Canon R6 and most of the time I keep my 50mm lens on it.
Why the name Three Bridge Photography?
Well, there are a LOT of Caitlin Hodges in the world…my own sister-in-law is also named Caitlin Hodges! I wanted to choose something that stood out a little more than just my name, so I chose the name of the place where I finally gathered the courage to start this business.
